All the clutter that started out in the garage started
collecting on the woodpile. Ok, that is a lie. I actually had
little woodpiles all over the place and the clutter just
started piling up on the largest of the piles. The mess looked
something like what you see here.

As you can see in the picture below it was getting kind of
hard getting to the mill! Especially after I got a really good
deal on a bunch of seasoned cherry.

My new wood rack uses 2x4 studs form a frame. Just minimal
sawing is required. All the boards I was able to get at the
local hardware store were slightly warped so I had to plane the
bottom of the boards.

Since I am working out of a converted garage I made sure that
the woodpile could be accessed from the outside by opening the
garage door. A little awkward in the wintertime but it
dramatically improves storage and access to small pieces.

I chose to only put up three shelves. If I were doing this
again I would probably make at least four. I also put up a piece
of plywood to retain the wood in the rack. This dramatically
improved the rigidity
