All the clutter that started out in the garage started collecting on the woodpile.

Things got out of hand after I got a really good deal on a bunch of seasoned cherry. I could not use the mill, and that meant I needed to do something ASAP.

My new wood rack uses 2x4 studs to form a frame. Just minimal sawing is required. All the boards I was able to get at the local hardware store were slightly warped so I had to plane the bottom of the boards.

Since I am working out of a converted garage I made sure that the woodpile could be accessed from the outside by opening the garage door. A little awkward in the wintertime but it dramatically improves storage and access to small pieces.

I chose to only put up three shelves. If I were doing this again I would probably make at least four. I also put up a piece of plywood to retain the wood in the rack. This dramatically improved the rigidity
