Konrad liked cashews.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 cup <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/butter-141\"> butter <\/a> (Don&#8217;t substitute)<\/li>\n<li>2 ounces uncooked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/pasta-273\"> spaghetti <\/a> , broken<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/onion-148\"> onion <\/a> , minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon minced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/garlic-165\"> garlic <\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 cups uncooked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/basmati-rice-9\">basmati rice<\/a> or 1 1\/4 cups <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/rice-160\">long-grain rice<\/a> or 1 1\/4 cups jasmine rice<\/li>\n<li>2 1\/4 cups <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/broth-154\">vegetable broth<\/a> or 2 1\/4 cups <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/water-459\"> water <\/a> (I use water)<\/li>\n<li>salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 lb <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/broccoli-206\"> broccoli floret <\/a><\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/library\/cashew-nut-642\"> cashews <\/a> , halves, roasted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Directions:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div>Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Increase heat to medium, and stir in spaghetti, cooking until coated with the melted butter and lightly browned.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Stir onion and garlic into the saucepan, and cook about 2 minutes, until tender.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Stir in rice, and cook for about 5 minutes.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Pour in vegetable broth and season mixture with salt and pepper.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Bring the mixture to a boil, cover, and cook 20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>While the rice is cooking, place broccoli in a separate medium saucepan with enough water to cover.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Bring to a boil, and cook until tender but firm; drain excess water.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Mix broccoli and cashew halves into the rice mixture, and serve warm.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A good recipe, easy and quick.
