{"id":146,"date":"2012-12-16T11:38:56","date_gmt":"2012-12-16T19:38:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hhhh.org\/perseant\/foodlog\/?p=146"},"modified":"2012-12-16T11:38:56","modified_gmt":"2012-12-16T19:38:56","slug":"gingerbread-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hhhh.org\/perseant\/foodlog\/?p=146","title":{"rendered":"Gingerbread House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/gingerbread-house-recipe\/index.html\">cookies<\/a>, some with orange jam &#8211; everybody liked them.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup (1 stick) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/butter\/index.html\">butter<\/a>, at room temperature<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup light <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/molasses\/index.html\">molasses<\/a> or dark <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/corn-syrup\/index.html\">corn syrup<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/cinnamon\/index.html\">cinnamon<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 teaspoons ground cloves<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>2 cups <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/flour\/index.html\">all-purpose flour<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For assemblage and decoration: (VERY OPTIONAL)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Melted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/white-chocolate\/index.html\">white chocolate<\/a> or Royal Icing (recipe follows)<\/li>\n<li>Gumdrops, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/licorice\/index.html\">licorice<\/a> and peppermint, as desired<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/sugar\/index.html\">brown sugar<\/a>, molasses, cinnamon, ginger, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/clove\/index.html\">cloves<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodterms.com\/encyclopedia\/baking-soda\/index.html\">baking soda<\/a> together until the mixture is smooth. Blend in the flour and water to make a stiff dough.
