Actually, as close I can figure it is from the late 60s \u2013 but that still makes it about 20 &#8211; 30 years younger than my other lathe. It is a Craftsman 12\u201dx36\u201d &#8211; like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lathes.co.uk\/craftsman\/page3.html\">these<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I was already looking to add a quick change gearbox to my older Atlas lathe, and build a stand for it. So when I saw this one come up on craigslist I figured I would break even over upgrading my old lathe if I can sell the old one for a decent price.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Looks like I will need to make a new motor pulley, and replace the headstock bearings soonish \u2013 but I am kind of excited.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_465\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-465\" style=\"width: 504px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhhh.org\/joeboy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/new_lathe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-465  \" title=\"new_lathe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hhhh.org\/joeboy\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/new_lathe.jpg\" alt=\"My &quot;new&quot; lathe\" width=\"504\" height=\"672\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-465\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My &quot;new&quot; lathe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see the lathe wrestled into the corner of the shop. Joel came over and bailed my ass out big time.
